Gamete Rescue

In the delicate web of life, every gamete (sperm and oocytes) carries the promise of a future. Gamete rescue in wildlife is a lifeline, preserving genetic diversity and ensuring the survival of endangered species. By safeguarding these fundamental elements, we protect nature’s incredible tapestry for generations to come.

Sperm Cryobanking

A Semen Vault

CARES pioneers sperm Cryobanking safeguarding genetic diversity. CARES freezes sperm from endangered species using state of art protocols helping Zoos to establish a ‘Semen Vault’/‘Cryobank’. Cryobanking facilitates sperm transport between populations, countries or continents for use in artificial breeding programs now or in the future thus maintaining genetic diversity and aiding species conservation.

  • Species-specific state of the freezing protocols
  • Semen processing for chilled or cryopreserved transport
  • Aiding / assisting field research programs

Gamete Rescue

Saving Hope, Saving Futures

Chronic illness, contraception, sudden death or age compromise wild animal reproduction and in addition, entail genetic loss. Gamete rescue of sperm, oocytes, embryos or tissues represents an insurance against genetic loss. Gamete rescue plays a vital role in conservation efforts. CARES helps Zoos implementing gamete rescue for use in artificial inseminations, in vitro fertilization programs or simply for safeguarding biodiversity in the future.

  • Gamete aspiration in vivo
  • Post mortem rescue and preparation
  • Organ or gamete processing for transport
  • Tissue sampling for Cryobanking

Empowering Wildlife Research &
 Assisted Reproduction

CARES delivers support for wildlife reproduction research and assisted reproduction programs. Our veterinary service caters to institutional partners and their research goals. We provide technical support for field research initiatives. On behalf of our partners, we help addressing conservation challenges.
